Beauty, Nature, Creativity and Wellbeing

2012 brings you another wonderful programme of courses at The Garden Station. Come and be delighted by the fabulous experiences on offer, from beekeeping or bookbinding to toymaking or tai chi. Learn and improve your skills and knowledge; create items from hares to slippers to take home with you. Just browse the list below and find out more about what you fancy by clicking on ‘more info’.

We can arrange a special course or talk for your group or party. How about felt-making with your family, watercolour with your WI or a lecture for lead-smelt historians? For more details, please contact us.

Course times

Our courses run from 11.00 to 4.45. The timing is to coincide with the bus times from and to Hexham, and is part of our commitment to environmental responsibility. Come by bus or other eco-friendly transport and get a discount – see below.

Prices and Discounts

The course fee for 2012 has been kept down at last year’s level of £50. This includes organic & Fairtrade tea/coffee on arrival, full home-made lunch & tea/coffee & home-made cake in the afternoon. The following discounts are available:

  1. SAVE THE PLANET:
    Arrive by bike, on foot or by bus: save 10%; share a lift in a car: save 5%
    N.B. If you have a disability which prevents you from taking advantage of these discounts, please apply the 10% discount anyway
  2. BOOK A READ OR PICK A PIC:
    All purchases (books, art, etc.) made on the day of your course will attract 10% off
  3. ACCOMMODATION OFFER:
    Verona and Mike Woodhouse have kindly offered £20 off a short break at their 4-STAR self-catering Station Flat in Allendale if you are booked on one of our courses.
