Botanical Art with David Pearson

Dates for 2008:

David is one of the leading new generation of botanical painters. He has exhibited both in Britain, including at the Royal Horticultural Society, and abroad. He invites you 'to pause and look at plants with a new eye, to see them as more than room decorations or the denizens of a garden. Their forms, textures and colours are a delight and a challenge.' David is a most sympathetic teacher who has run many workshops at The Garden Station.

David recommends the following materials:

A3 size drawing board (economy version in MDF could be cut by timber merchant!)
Sable brushes – sizes: 1 – 3 – 5 – 7
Pencils: HB – 2H- 2B
Watercolour paints:
Winsor lemon - Cadmium yellow - Cadmium yellow deep - Cadmium orange - Scarlet lake - Cadmium red - Alizarin crimson - Perylene maroon - Genuine rose madder - Quinacridone magenta - Winsor violet - Payne’s grey - Davy’s grey - French ultramarine - Cobalt blue - Cerulean blue - Hooker’s green - Naples yellow - Yellow ochre - Raw sienna - Burnt sienna - Raw umber - Burnt umber - Chinese white - Sepia
Paper for Botanical work will be supplied by David: please bring £1 to cover this.
