Batik
is a fascinating art technique. Molten wax is applied to the fabric, which
is then dyed. The waxed areas resist the dye, and the process may then
be repeated for more colours. Batik fabric is washable, and may be used
for clothing, cushion covers etc, as well as for wall hangings.
Participants can expect to take home one or two finished pieces. You may have seen Pete’s beautiful speaker covers in The Garden Station.
