Beginning Calligraphy

Chris, a superb calligrapher himself, will introduce you to the italic hand. You could write something as straightforward as an abecedarium, or you could create something related to the garden, or your favourite verse or saying. Whatever you do, it will be a foundation for further enjoyment of writing as a visual art. Materials and equipment are all fairly basic, at least to start with, and pens, inks, paints and paper can all be sourced with the environment in mind.
