An introduction to identifying mushrooms and a fungus forage in the woods. Gordon is Reader in Developmental Mycology at Newcastle University, and a most welcome regular tutor at the Garden Station. This course will give you an introduction to some of our more common woodland fungi and explain the roles of these fascinating organisms in our ecosystem. You will collect specimens from Langley Woods for identification and hopefully have some good edible ones to take home. Please bring weatherproof clothes and footwear.
