First of all, there's Haydon Bridge.  I like Haydon Bridge very much – I think it's underrated by TICs and the like, but to me it's a really friendly community, a good place to stay, and full of interest as well as close to lots of nearby attractions, including Hadrian's Wall, Haltwhistle Cycle Hub, Allen Banks and Staward Gorge, and of course The Garden Station!

Haydon Bridge's  accommodation page is http://www.haydon-bridge.co.uk/visitors-accommodation.php

Secondly, you can find a lot of very useful stuff on the Allen Valleys and Hadrian's Wall Northumberland websites.  Their accommodation pages are http://www.allenvalleys.com/allenvalleywheretostay.htm   and http://www.hadrianswallnorthumberland.co.uk/accomodation.htm .

Finally, there are several places I know of personally, many of which have been strongly recommended by visitors to The Garden Station, and many of which share the environmental and other ethical values of The Garden Station.  They include Carraw B&B , High Keenley Fell Farm B&B , The Old Repeater Station , Grindon Cartshed , The Hytte , Battlesteads Hotel & Restaurant , Old Church Cottages and of course the next two stations down the line:  The Waiting Room and Station House Flat and Allendale Caravan Park .
