Open Again
It's a delight to be open again! The main café is open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, and guests have come in already for teas and coffees, cakes and lunches, to take a wander down the garden, or to buy some plants. The café has had a lick of paint and looks fresh and bright, we've filled in the potholes in the drive, and the garden is looking lovely.
Exhibition
We think you'll love our Spring Exhibition. Three artists new to The Garden Station have provided us with their beautiful work. Elaine Westall's acrylics and watercolours of iconic Northumberland scenes and Alpine landscapes are beautiful. Lesley Philp's hand-made silver jewellery is a superb example of how true artisan craftsmanship is so utterly different from its mass-produced cousin. And we have a selection of great photos by Peter Atkinson, observing and capturing the natural world in fine detail.
Spring
After a cold January and February, the garden and surroundings have signalled, despite cold snaps, that Spring is on its way - hellebores and snowdrops blooming in the Woodland Garden, bulbs coming up nicely and leaf-buds on the trees. The birds have been singing Spring songs for some weeks, and it's only just over a week until the equinox. Rejuvenation!
Courses
We started the year with a jubilant squawk! Katie Jackson's 'Keeping Hens' was very enjoyable as well as very informative, and already several people have expressed their interest if we offer the course again. If you would like us to tell you if we arrange another date (or if you have a suggestion for another course) do get in touch by replying to this e-mail or via our website.
There are still places on courses coming up soon, and as we've changed the dates of some of our courses, you may still be in time, so please look again at our COURSES page if you thought you couldn't make the date! Book now to avoid disappointment!
You can also book by ringing 01434 684391, except for the following:
